Hey Sacramentans: Lodi is bringing the wine to you during Second Saturday on May 13! Dress Up, Wine Down on Cap will feature wine tasting from 11 of your favorite Lodi wineries alongside a dazzling fashion show highlighting styles and trends from the area’s hottest boutiques like Richard Hallmarq, Getta Clue, Heart Clothing Boutique, and more! Word is that some of our more daring winemakers may find themselves on the runway!

Texas James Beard Chef Molly McCook Headlines ZinFest Dinner at LangeTwins Winery

LangeTwins Family Winery and Vineyards is proud to feature Texas James Beard Chef Molly McCook at their opening event for ZinFest 2017! McCook will be joined by her co-owner, general partner and wine aficionado, Richard King. The Texas culinary pair has created a unique menu to showcase LangeTwins wines, including a four-year library tasting of the winery’s domestic Bordeaux, Midnight Reserve. As a recipient of the Danielle Carlisle Award for excellence in culinary studies from the California Culinary Academy, McCook has a passion for sustainable dining. The evening will feature a pairing and tasting of ten different LangeTwins wines, including an introduction of a newly released 2016 Chenin Blanc. Click here to view the exquisite menu.

Lodi Wine Seminar, “How Do Lodi Wines Compare to the Best In the World? (A Blind Tasting with a Panel of Professional Wine Educators)”

The only real way of discovering how Lodi’s best wines compare to the best wines of the rest of the world is to experience them in a formal blind tasting. Which is exactly what we’ll be doing in this special ZinFest panel tasting, taking place in the Wine & Roses Hotel Ballroom. Participants will be able to taste 8 different Lodi varietals next to 8 wines made from the same grapes from other regions in California, plus France, Spain or Italy. Commentary will be supplied by our panel of experts: Randy Caparoso (Editor of The SOMM Journal and lodiwine.com), Fred Swan CSW (Educator at San Francisco Wine School and author of norcalwine.com), and Deborah Parker Wong DWSET (Northern California Editor of The Tasting Panel/The SOMM Journal and Director of Education of Wine and Spirits Education Trust). The tasting will include the following varieties – Picpoul Blanc, Albariño, Vermentino, Cinsaut, Grenache, Zinfandel, Carignane, and Syrah. Limited to 50 people.

Sunset Evening Tour on Lodi Lake
Headwaters Kayak at Lodi Lake, 1301 W. Turner Rd., Lodi, 95242 | RSVP required | Space is limited to 25

The Sunset Tour will begin at 5:30pm at Headwaters Kayak at Lodi Lake Park. The tour will last approximately 2 hours during which time the group will paddle around Lodi Lake and the sloughs that connect to the Mokelumne River. Paddlers will learn about our river and what makes it unique to Lodi, the wildlife that call Lodi home, and the Dawn Redwood Tree’s that were thought to be extinct until the were discovered in the 1940s in the mountains of China and somehow repopulated to Lodi Lake. This tour is slow-paced and very laid back and is perfect for the first time paddler.
